My name is Hun Taing (she/her). I am passionate about building healing and effective organizations to lead meaningful change. For the past 15 years, I have served in leadership roles driving organizational transformation focused on People & Culture strategy while centering equity, belonging and racial justice efforts. Shaped by my cultural and spiritual traditions, my work is rooted in the belief that we are interconnected with a personal responsibility to our collective healing and transformation. I’ve been a student of Thich Nhat Hanh since 2005 when I received the Five Mindfulness Trainings transmission at Deer Park Monastery. My dharma name is Genuine Awareness of the Heart. Over the years my spiritual practice has helped to transform relationships, healed traumas and reunited my family. I am a Cambodian genocide survivor and refugee married to a Black man from Oakland with a son and identical twin girls. In addition to being present with our children, gardening, and building deep connections with people and nature bring me joy.
